Our Partners

The success of this program is largely dependent on our strong and collaborative relationships with similarly aligned organizations who share our values.

To help fulfill its commitments, EllisDon partnered with several expert parties to form the Community Benefits Working Group. The group, co-chaired jointly by EllisDon and West Park Healthcare Centre is joined by the Toronto Community Benefits Network, United Way, Hammer Heads and Infrastructure Ontario.

Hammer Heads

Hammer Heads was created by the Central Ontario Building Trades (COBT) in 2009 to support at-risk youth aged 18 – 26 from under-resourced and under-represented communities to develop the skills they need to gain meaningful employment as a registered apprentice in the skilled construction trades. Incorporating intense Health & Safety training, mandatory academic upgrading, Green training and life skills, our hands-on program exposes youth to a variety of construction trades, ensuring they have the necessary social and professional skills to successfully obtain a rewarding full-time career in construction with a fair wage, benefits and pension.

As a registered charity, Hammer Heads enjoys the unconditional support of the COBT and their 25 affiliates and is committed to enhancing the employment and economic potential of our youth, their families and the community by bridging the gap between under-resourced youth and unionized construction apprenticeships. We are very proud of the success we have achieved and that success would not be possible without the support of our COBT affiliates and key industry partners.

In partnership with their network of service providers, they offer a job finding club, apprenticeship preparation, professional development, mentoring and coaching. Programs are offered in person and online. They provide financial supports to eligible participants - women and youth from newcomer, racialized and Indigenous communities — who experience barriers to access employment in the industry.

West Park Healthcare Centre

Founded as a tuberculosis sanitarium in 1904, West Park Healthcare Centre helps patients get their lives back by providing specialized rehabilitative and complex care after a life‐altering illness or injury such as lung disease, amputation, stroke and other traumatic injuries.

Today, West Park is on the bold path to transform its 27-acre site into an integrated campus of care that will enable the hospital to meet Ontario’s future health care needs. To achieve this, West Park is building a new hospital facility that will incorporate the best and latest in architectural design, enabling technologies and stunning therapeutic landscapes. We are also embarking on an entrepreneurial initiative to extend our spectrum of services by creating a vibrant community with housing and related services for seniors and people with disabilities.
